Our client, an Ann Arbor area private family with corporate and personal holdings, seeks an exceptional accountant and financial strategist for their personal and family accounting management.

Family Office Senior Level Accountant

(part-time or full-time role available)

This role will be performed primarily in-person in the Ann Arbor corporate office.

This newly created role will provide financial oversight and support to all personal financial matters on behalf of the family.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Create and implement a set of standard financial practices for all personal and family financial matters; to include paying bills, managing checking accounts, tracking investments, etc.
  • Partner with tax consultants to develop family financial and tax planning strategies, including for trusts, life insurance programs, estate plans and business holdings;
  • Manage the assets of the various family trusts, review trust contents relative to tax laws;
  • Provide financial review and analysis, as needed, of investment opportunities;
  • Keep meticulous track of assets and provide regular reporting on status.

The successful candidate will support multiple family generations in these areas.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant status is desirable
  • A minimum of seven to ten years in progressively responsible financial roles and/or training
  • Experience creating financial reporting and accounting systems for various investments
  • Knowledge of accounting applications and management information reporting tools
  • Exceptional communication skills, entrepreneurship and flexibility
