Customs Tax Administrator

Our Ann Abor based client seeks a Customs Tax Administrator to join their growing team.  The select candidate will be responsible for processing customs documentation, data analytics and process documentation surrounding customs as applicable on a global basis.

Responsibilities include: 

• Develops and maintains processes and procedures for US to Mexico/Canada import and export related functions, including development of tools in order to perform job functions more efficiently
• Research and understand potential impact of customs in newly established and expanding business markets
• Develop customs instructions to process cross-border transactions. Ensures that policies are always accurate and up to date
• Prepare customs import documentation for submission to customs broker
• Support tax function preparing related customer tax setups
• Assist with cross-functional tax department projects and work closely with sales department in determining customs implications

Qualifications include:

• Associates Degree or equivalent two (2) years of experience in brokerage, supply chain, or logistics is preferred
• Proficiency with one or more accounting systems, including the ability to assimilate new software applications easily
• Advanced-level Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary in order to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Ability to collaborate with team members
• Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects and priorities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service
• Ability to identify issues, compare data, investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Proven analytical problem solver
• Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic
