Development Director - The Corner Health Center

The Corner Health Center seeks a Development Director with extensive experience raising funds for nonprofit organizations, ideally within a health care setting. This individual will work very closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to spearhead fundraising activities for the organization. This is an exempt, full time, on-site position (40 hours per week, including some evening and weekend hours) with competitive salary and benefits. This person will report directly to the Executive Director. This is an ideal position for someone with at least five years of development experience, with a passion for running all aspects of a development operation in a strong, local community organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy that enables the Corner to fulfill its mission, complements revenue and spending cycles, and reflects a keen awareness of local, regional, and national donor attributes and giving seasons
• Cultivate and maintain donor relationships, including:
• Build and manage a broad base of individual donors. Efforts include conducting in-person cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship meetings with donors and prospects, special events and other strategies
• In partnership with the executive director, secure and steward major individual donors and corporate sponsors
• Work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to develop and implement strategies for major gift donors and prospects. Serve as Development staff liaison to the Board. Attend Board meetings and coordinate Board development activities
• Coordinate fundraising events and donor prospect gatherings
• Design and execute special events for donors
• Plan, design materials, and manage at least two direct mail appeals annually
• Create annual report for the agency
• Represent the organization to funders and community partners
• Participate in community events and public functions to represent the organization and actively engage donors, prospects and key stakeholders, including community partners in health care
• Research and cultivate new grant opportunities
• Oversee, write and prepare grants and reports
• Oversee and maintain communication with media to promote the Corner and its events
• Manage donor data, gift processing, timely gift acknowledgements, and appropriate donor gift recognition
• Maintain and build donor portfolios including accessing and analyzing data in Donor Perfect
• Oversee direct mail program
• Produce dashboard reports to be presented to internal management and the Board of Directors on a monthly basis
• Work with the Finance Department to reconcile donor database numbers with financial reporting
• Supervise Grants Coordinator
• Work with program staff to create new grant opportunities for program expansion

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree or Certified Fund Raising Expert (CFRE) certification preferred
• 5+ years of experience in non-profit fund development, with a documented track record of growing a major gifts program
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a diverse variety of stakeholders and constituents, and a portfolio of fundraising materials developed on the job
• Grant writing and reporting experience
• Strong external networking, relationship and customer service skills
• Proven ability to plan, monitor and grow revenue streams
• Experience with budget development and management
• Knowledge of donor database systems and fundraising software
• Experience with online fundraising platforms
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Commitment to the agency mission
• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
• Understanding of the health care industry
• Fundraising: 5 years (Preferred)

All patients and staff are required to wear masks. Staff is required to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.

Benefits
• Salary: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
