Director of Programs - Young Adult Emotional/Mental Health

Our client, Garrett's Spaceis an exciting new non-profit dedicated to creating additional support options for young adults with significant mental health challenges. With a focus on reducing suicides by providing wellness programming that promotes wellness, healing, self-worth and resilience, the organization's future vision includes a holistically focused residential center in addition to outpatient programs, groups and classes.

Program Director

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of the wellness program for young adults. Programs will include a wellness support group of young adult peers, movement sessions and a social connection group.  The Program Director will work with experts in the field to design evidence-based programs and create a replicable model to be used nationally.

 

Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

Program Development

-Collaborate with the Program Committee members to create the fundamentals of the program

-Hire, train and supervise program staff 

-Design the young adult intake interview and paperwork

-Connect with and cultivate referral sources to educate them about programs

-Implement HIPPA standards

Evaluation

-Implement the program evaluation process 

-On a continuous basis, collect evaluation data from participants

-Assist in analyzing evaluation data

-Report data to Executive Director, Program Committee and Board of Directors

-Plan program modifications based on evaluation data

Clinical Management

-Provide clinical supervision for group leaders

-Supervise other staff and volunteers

-Co-facilitate wellness groups

-Perform intake interviews with potential program participants

-Meet with referral sources

-Meet with program participants

-Follow risk assessment protocols 

-Design and implement follow up process

Other Job Responsibilities  

-Develop policies, procedures and practices 

-Assist with the implementation of the YST program intervention performed by UM staff (Young Adult Nominated Support Teams). 

-Serve as backup YST intervention specialist 

-Work closely and collaboratively with Program Committee 

-Participate in the grant writing and reporting processes 

- Serve in a leadership capacity to advance the vision of the GS residential facility

 

Qualifications

-a Master of Social Work or PhD in Psychology

-clinical licensure (LMSW, ACSW or LLP)

-5+ years of experience in clinical setting (social work or psychology)

-Clinical experience in group facilitation and suicide assessment and care

-Supervisory, leadership and group facilitation experience 

-Experience in program development and evaluation

-Experience in crisis management

-Program evaluation experience is desired

-Excellent writing, communications and organization skills

-Must be engaging and enjoy collaborating with others

-Possess a passion for the mission of the Garrett's Space

-Curious, innovative and creative in approaching situations

-Ability to work in an organized manner and think strategically

-Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple tasks

-Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

-Proficient computer skills
