Fleet Manager, Golden Limousine International

Golden Limousine, a corporate and leisure transportation company established in 1992 which provides services to corporations and individuals for private luxury and executive level transportation, is looking for a Fleet Manager to join their team.

The Fleet Manager will organize, monitor, and supervise the equipment shop operation to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to vehicle and equipment maintenance. Responsible for the performance of all mechanics, detailers and porters ensuring that they follow the company policy and their job descriptions.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, train, review, evaluate and participate in the work of staff responsible for vehicle and equipment cleaning
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing vehicle and equipment maintenance and cleaning services; identify resource needs on the interior, exterior and any cosmetic issues
  • Maintain vehicle and equipment maintenance records and repair costs to ensure we are charged the correct fees
  • Participate in the development of goals and objectives; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Set work schedules to ensure adequate coverage
  • Monitor and control supplies and equipment; order parts, supplies and tools as necessary; prepare documents for equipment procurement
  • Actively inspect all vehicles to ensure all equipment is working properly
  • Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs
  • Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  • Fast paced
  • Exposure to a variety of people and business types
  • Performs work outdoors in warehouse/garage; has an office where are supplies are stored.
  • Work is performed primarily in a shop environment; occasional field environment with some travel; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases and all types of weather and temperature conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces and rough terrain; incumbents may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a mechanic shop environment; walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, and twist; push, pull, lift and/or carry moderate to heavy amounts of weights; operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
  • See in normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • 3 or more years of progressive automotive, heavy truck mechanic experience
  • 3 or more years of transportation fleet management experience
  • Experience in diagnostic and repair; gasoline and diesel engine repair, brakes and braking systems, suspension and steering systems, electrical systems, and drive train.
  • Knowledge of DOT inspection criteria
  • Master Certification in Heavy Duty Truck
  • Experience in inventory management for supplies and equipment
  • Experience in training, evaluating and supervising staff
  • Ability to interpret and explain department policies and procedures
  • Ability to perform the operation of vehicle and equipment duties
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Preferred Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Associates degree in automotive field
  • Light Automotive Certifications

Additional Details:

  • This position will require the ability to pass DOT driving regulations; with two points or less on license and cannot have incurred a DUI of OWI.
  • FTA regulations require all safety sensitive positions to be regularly tested utilizing a ten-panel drug screening (including marijuana).
  • This position will require the individual to have their own, personal set of mechanical maintenance tools
