The Marketing Director is a key position that will work with internal stakeholders to develop and implement goal-oriented strategies for the organization's traditional and digital marketing programs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create, proofread, and edit copy and content for various marketing channels, ensuring a consistent voice. Includes, but not limited to content for company website, social media channels, email campaigns and paid advertising for digital and traditional marketing efforts.
  • Research, implement, and continually optimize SEO and paid search efforts
  • Stay current on the latest trends in traditional and digital marketing including search, social media, email, and analytics, while providing recommendations on ways to better serve the company's needs
  • Oversee social media content calendars by researching relevant topics, writing engaging copy, recommending images/video to accompany posts, and scheduling posts
  • Manage promotional budgets for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google Ads
  • Continually monitor campaign performance providing recommendations for optimization
  • Monitor and contribute to online conversations, replying to comments and messages to generate positive digital brand reputation
  • Monitor and analyze website data using Google Analytics to provide data-driven actionable insights and suggestions for improvements
  • Create and update regular performance reports to be shared with internal stakeholders monthly, quarterly, or as needed
  • Collaborate with teammates and project stakeholders to develop creative and effective marketing solutions
  • Manages marketing materials, ensuring appropriate supplies are ordered and available
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure high-quality and timely execution of marketing programs, and to ensure competitiveness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Public Relations, Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field of study; or relevant years of experience
  • Minimum of four years of traditional and digital marketing experience
  • Prior experience working in a business environment coordinating social media on applicable platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Blogs, Wikis)
  • Prior experience using web analytics tools to interpret data and build insightful reporting
  • Prior experience writing for the web, on social, and/or in traditional media
  • Prior experience successfully managing and growing multiple paid advertising accounts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain difficult issues
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to utilize business sense and creativity to develop new ideas and solutions
  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Ability to collaborate with team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in graphic and web design using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Philanthropic experience within an academic environment

HEG is based in Chicago, Illinois. This position may be performed virtually.
