Reporting to the Avflight HR Manager, The Payroll/HR Associate is responsible for processing and maintaining multi-state payroll for salary and hourly employees located in the US.  This position will assist with HR and payroll data entry items as well as annual bonus processing and year end payroll items.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payrolls for employees in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintains and updates employee payroll information in the system such as garnishments, tax changes, and direct deposits
  • Respond to inquiries relating to salary wage assignments, child support agreements, and verifications of employment
  • Provide requested information to the Accounting Department relating to payroll charges, funding and account reconciliation
  • Process new hires, status changes, pay changes and terminations in a timely manner
  • Organize and file/upload payroll and employee documents to online filing system
  • Maintain hands on knowledge of all processes, tasks, and technical aspects of payroll
  • Answer emails and phone calls from locations and employees concerning time and pay issues
  • Process bonus payments and annual regular rate overtime adjustments
  • Provide bi-weekly files to 401k vendor, resolve any discrepancies timely
  • Conduct routine review of tax and other filings prepared by payroll vendor
  • Stay current on changes in tax regulations, filing requirements; ensure compliance
  • Identify process improvements, and makes suggestions for required training to ensure accurate and timely processed payrolls
  • Maintain appropriate system and process controls to protect the integrity of payroll and people related data
  • Support payroll implementation activities in connection with mergers and acquisitions
  • Provides support for ad hoc assignments and reports as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with Payroll processing is highly preferred or other relevant experience
  • Experience processing multi-state payrolls with high volumes of employees and transactions
  • Excellent Skills with Excel and HR/Payroll systems
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload, multi-task and manage changes in direction
  • Basic knowledge of HR practices
  • Strong ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
