Vice President, Organ Procurement Operations

POSITION SUMMARY

 The Vice President (VP) of Organ Operations is dedicated to supporting the mission of providing the opportunity to improve and extend lives through organ and tissue donation for transplantation and research.  This executive participates in the planning and direction of all aspects of operational policies, objectives and initiatives and shares responsibility with the executive management team for the attainment of short- and long-term financial and operational goals. 

This (VP) of Organ Operations will engage leadership, front-line staff and others around a well-articulated strategy to maximize organ donor evaluation and screening, management, allocation and recovery efforts, which ultimately leads to top quartile performance in organ utilization for transplant and research.  The executive is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and on-going evaluation of the Organ and Research programs. As a member of the executive management team, this individual must actively foster an organizational culture based on collaboration, performance improvement, and accountability for performance.  This position requires a proactive team player who must uphold the core values of the organization, which includes teamwork, integrity, and passion.

This position directly supervises Regional Directors, Clinical Operations Managers, Manager of Organ Preservation Services, Director of Organ Allocation & Transplant Center Strategy/Business Development, and the Director of Research.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

Required: Applicants will have a minimum of 10 previous administrative/management experience with at least five (5) years minimum in a health-related field.

Preferred: Previous experience in organ and tissue procurement and/or transplantation.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:

Required:  Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or related field

Preferred:  MSN, MHA or MBA

Certification/License:

Required:        CPTC Certification. (Certification maybe obtained in first 12 months of employment.)

Preferred:        RN
